The Arkansas Short-Term Rental Alliance (ASTRA) is a group of residents, hosts, local businesses, and other advocates who understand and protect the rights of homeowners to responsibly rent their properties. We believe in fair and reasonable regulations of short-term rentals in Arkansas, and know the value that private hosting brings to our area’s economy at large. We are the voice for short-term rentals— working to develop reasonable regulations and responsible management. ASTRA serves as a resource and platform for its members, providing updates on policy proposals, relevant news stories, and opportunities for action.

A common misconception with short-term rentals is they decrease your property’s value. However, STRs raise your property’s value because they are carefully maintained and attractive to renters.

STRs rely on the services of small local businesses, such as property management services, local housekeepers, landscapers, maintenance technicians, pest control providers, and other property care specialists. Case studies have shown that for every new STR, four fractional jobs are created.
Locally Owned
Despite popular belief, short-term rentals are not owned by Airbnb or VRBO. STRs are owned by people in our communities, and most are occupied by the homeowners. STRs help homeowners supplement their mortgages and keep their homes.
